Bushido Ju Jitsu Barnoldswick was opened by its present Instructors in 1995. The Instructors at Bushido Ju Jitsu have been training in Ju Jitsu since the mid 1970ís and have held their Black Belt grades and subsequently have been teaching since the early 1980ís. Bushido Ju Jitsu Barnoldswick is affiliated to the British Ju-Jitsu Association (Governing Body).
When Bushido Ju Jitsu Barnoldswick was first opened back in 1995 it was run out of the Sports Centre in Barnoldswick on a Thursday evening and St Joseph's Parish Centre again in Barnoldswick on a Sunday afternoon. In 2002 Bushido Ju Jitsu Barnoldswick were in a position to purchase their own premises and moved to the current location at the old British Legion Club in Earby on Green End Road. The relocation to Green End Road not only allowed more classes to be offered but allowed for classes to be run specifically for the various age groups such as Junior, Intermediate and Senior Students. This resulted in tailored training and allowed the instructors to have more one to one time with the students.
The BJJA(GB) is the National Governing Body for Ju Jitsu in the UK, its purpose is to ensure that the art of Ju Jitsu is practiced in a safe and responsible manner. The BJJA(GB) insists that all Instructors before they teach must have formal Coaching Qualification, must be trained First Aiders, must have had a CRB check and finally must carry Professional Indemnity.
All the Instructors at Bushido Ju Jitsu Barnoldswick meet with this strict criteria; therefore students are guaranteed safe and professional tuition. All Bushido Ju Jitsu Barnoldswick grading examinations are officially sanctioned by the BJJA (GB) and certificates are awarded to successful students. Bushido Ju Jitsu Barnoldswick are proud to be members of the BJJA (GB).
At Bushido Ju Jitsu Barnoldswick traditional Ju Jitsu is taught which is still one of the most effective forms of self defence. Bushido Ju Jitsu Barnoldswick also teach and practice Sport Ju Jitsu for those students wishing to challenge themselves in the competition arena, this is optional as it is appreciated that not all students want to compete.
By virtue of training in Ju Jitsu at Bushido Ju Jitsu Barnoldswick students will not only benefit from the obvious physical gains from practicing Ju Jitsu but they will also develop other attributes such as self discipline and increased self confidence.
