A singing group for people who do not necessarily consider themselves as singers. The group is led by Janet Swan of the Natural Voice Practitioners Network. Janet says: "Just come with the voice you were born with - you do not need to be able to read music or feel under any pressure. We start with a 10 minute warm up each time, and this helps you to relax and free your voice. Then everything we learn is by ear, which once we add a few harmonies, can start to sound very powerful after just a short time".
The choir meets for its two-hour sessions on Thursdays at 10.15 am at Barnoldswick Library.
Choir member Pat Cox said: ‘People sometimes say “Oh, I can’t sing”. But none of us in Border Harmony think of ourselves as particularly good singers. It’s amazing what a great sound you can end up making together. You get quite a buzz from it. We’re a friendly bunch too – some of us go off down the café after choir sessions.’
