Spring sunshine on Stocks Beck

Strong spring sunshine glittering on Stocks Beck caught my eye in Valley Gardens.
The stream splashes over fractured rock as it passes through the upper part of the park.
The first flush of growth on beckside trees echoes the mossy green stones in the bed of the beck.
Above the upper footbridge, the stream cascades over the weir which captures water bound to make a slower pace through the park in the mill race.
The redbrick wall of what was a weaver's model lodging house (now Briggs and Duxbury Builders Merchants) reminds us of this area's industrial past.
Now the sounds in this green wedge in the centre of Barnoldswick are the splash of the burbling beck and the trill of birdsong.
